Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto identified the suspect as John Raymart, a resident of Pasay City. He was arrested at DMJ Aleta Midway Ausley Private Resort in Barangay Pansol, Calamba City, Laguna.
The victims were identified as Gemel Tiing Hock Wang, 24; Hero Sumat, 24; Led Chua, 24, all residents of Pasay City; and Jerwin Arandila, 34, of Laguna.
Police said the victims were aboard a Toyota Fortuner when they were robbed at around 10:19 p.m. along BAC1-11 Street corner Andrews Avenue, Barangay 190, Pasay City. The suspects allegedly took ₱5,780,000 in cash and assorted gold jewelry worth ₱1,000,000 from them.
According to the police, personnel from the Pasay City Police Baclaran Substation were in the area to serve a warrant of arrest when a concerned citizen reported an ongoing robbery involving four armed men wearing masks.
Responding officers found that Arandila, who was driving the vehicle, and Chua were able to alight from the car and escape. The suspects then boarded the victims’ vehicle along with Wang and Sumat and fled toward Manila.
The suspects later abandoned the vehicle along L. Francisco Street corner Tejero Street in Sta. Ana, Manila, leaving behind Wang and Sumat.
De Sesto said coordination was made with the Calamba City Police after information revealed that Raymart was staying at a private resort in Laguna. Recovered from his possession were ₱80,501 in cash, a gold necklace, a Casio wristwatch, AirPods, perfume, a Gucci sling bag, an iPhone 15, a driver’s license, a key, and a hand grenade.
The victims positively identified Raymart as one of the suspects who robbed them of cash and jewelry.
During the investigation, Raymart identified his alleged cohorts, including alias “Ralph,” 24, his brother, along with Edmund, Bianca, Andrea, Aljohn, Bino, Bais, and Omay. Authorities said they are now the subject of a manhunt.
De Sesto added that the victims disclosed this was the second time they were robbed, the first incident having occurred in Taguig City in September 2025.
Police are also looking into the possibility that a tipster within the victims’ group or among their associates may have informed the suspects that they were carrying a large amount of cash.
