Woman hacked to death over property

MAUBAN, Quezon – A 44-year-old housewife was hacked to death by her former husband over their property on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 21, in Barangay Liwayway, this town.
Police identified the victim as Joy.
Investigation said the victim and the suspect Al, 47, were discussing the partition of their house when a heated argument erupted.
The suspect took a sickle and hacked the victim in the neck. The victim died on the spot and the suspect fled.
Police recovered the weapon in the back of the house.
The couple had been separated for almost a year, and the victim filed a case of violence against women and the suspect received a subpoena last Jan. 20.
Police added that after the incident, the victim’s relative received a call from the sister of the suspect informing them that he is in Batangas City and willing to surrender to lawmen.
Police proceeded to Batangas City to apprehend the suspect. He faces a murder case.
