Mom arrested for drowning daughter

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police arrested a woman last Wednesday, Jan. 21, for allegedly drowning her four-year-old daughter in Barangay Abong Abong, Tabina municipality, Zamboanga del Sur.
Investigation showed that a witness spotted a naked woman leading a naked child to sea last Monday, Jan. 19.
The woman was next spotted alone and the child missing. The body of the child was found during a rescue mission on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
The woman, who was last seen going towards Dimatiling, Zambonga del Sur, became the subject of a manhunt until she was apprehended by authorities on Wednesday.
The child's remains were turned over to her grandmother who identified the woman to be the mother of the victim.
