The Las Piñas City government extended assistance to youth participants stranded in Cebu after joining the Sinulog Festival.
Upon learning of the situation, Mayor April Aguilar immediately directed concerned offices to arrange the return of the affected youth to Metro Manila. Airline tickets were promptly booked with Philippine Airlines, ensuring the safe and orderly travel of the Sinulog contingents back home.
She instructed the Tourism and Culture Office, under the supervision of Paul Ahljay San Miguel, to closely coordinate the processing of ticket purchases and to monitor the condition of the participants in Cebu.
Aguilar personally oversaw the expedited return of the Las Piñero participants, emphasizing that the city government remains committed to protecting and supporting its youth, especially in times of need.
The mayor also appealed to the public to refrain from spreading misinformation regarding the incident through a Facebook post, stressing that the situation was addressed through a coordinated action.
Aguilar clarified that the participants were not officially designated or sent by the city government to join the Sinulog Festival in Cebu.
