Pasay City Police chief Col. Joselito De Sesto identified the suspect as alias “Choi,” 40, a casino agent and resident of 2021 Residences along Roxas Boulevard Service Road, Barangay 13, Pasay City.
The suspect was arrested at around 2:30 p.m. in front of Tile Depot along Gil Puyat Avenue.
De Sesto said personnel from Pasay City Police Substation 1 were conducting a police visibility patrol when they spotted two individuals engaged in an altercation stemming from an alleged vehicular collision.
When police operatives approached the scene, Choi alighted from his vehicle—a Hyundai Staria with plate number NFB 2647—and was observed discreetly dropping several transparent sachets on the ground.
Upon noticing the suspicious act, police conducted a search of the area and a subsequent inspection of the suspect’s vehicle.
Recovered from Choi were two tablets suspected to be ecstasy valued at P3,400; two sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.24 grams with an estimated value of P1,632; and 0.90 grams of suspected cocaine worth P4,770. The total estimated value of the confiscated illegal drugs amounted to P9,802.
De Sesto said the suspect was informed of his violation of Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, through a Google Translate application in the Korean language used by the apprehending officers.
