BACOLOD CITY – InDrive, a global mobility platform, was officially launched here on Tuesday, Jan. 20, with the opening of a driver center on Burgos Extension in Barangay Villamonte.
The opening was led by inDrive Philippines Business Development Head Sofia Guinto, Driver Operations Lead Vanessa Taqueban, Southeast Asia Communications Manager Shaerine Irwina Kaur, and Land Transportation Office (LTO) representative Roy Gamboa.
Since entering this city in 2024, inDrive has recorded robust growth, with its active passenger base increasing by 30 percent and rides surging by 127 percent year-on-year.
Guinto said the figures reflect strong acceptance from both commuters and drivers, noting that the city has been “craving for another player” in the ride-hailing sector.
“We’ve really seen a very strong growth here in Bacolod. It is a testament to how warm and accepting Bacolod people are to the service of inDrive,” Guinto said during a press briefing after the launching.
She added that the establishment of a physical office was due to requests from partner drivers who needed a venue for onboarding, training, and addressing operational concerns.
The driver center will serve as a hub for driver support and community engagement as the city continues to grow.
“Being present in Bacolod allows us to better understand the day-to-day transport challenges faced by both drivers and passengers,” Taqueban said. “This dedicated hub enables us to support our partner drivers more effectively and engage more meaningfully with the community."
Taqueban said that partner drivers play a crucial role in the company’s success. “Without our partner drivers, we won’t be able to reach this milestone,” she said.
