Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific will transfer all its turboprop flights from Manila to Clark International Airport by March as it completes the final phase of its government-mandated relocation.
Cebu Pacific will no longer operate turboprop flights out of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) starting March 29, with these flights set to depart from and arrive exclusively at Clark.
The airline will withdraw its remaining Coron and Naga flights, operated by its regional unit Cebgo, in compliance with the directive of the Manila Slot Coordination Committee (MSCC).
The El Nido flights of Cebu Pacific’s boutique carrier AirSwift are also scheduled to be relocated to Clark as part of ongoing efforts to decongest NAIA.
NAIA, managed by New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), has been experiencing severe congestion as demand for air travel rises and more carriers launch flights to Manila.
Relocating turboprop operations was the solution adopted by the MSCC, as removing their slots would free up space for jets that can carry significantly more passengers.
Turboprops are smaller aircraft used to serve island destinations such as Siargao, Camiguin, and Coron, where airports have limited runway space that cannot accommodate larger jets.
The public-private MSCC issued guidelines in December 2024 for the gradual transfer of turboprop operations from NAIA to regional airports.
The deadline for the complete transfer of turboprop flights was initially set in October last year, but was since delayed to March 2926 to address logistical challenges and mitigate its impact.
Cebu Pacific said there is no cause for concern for passengers affected by the relocation, noting that their booked flights will be automatically transferred to new flights from Clark.
For passengers seeking a different arrangement, the airline said it will offer free rebooking for up to 30 days from the original flight date, conversion to travel fund, or a full refund.
With the transfer of its turboprop flights, Cebu Pacific said it will use their slots to increase frequencies to high-demand local and international routes.
The airline will increase its current weekly flight schedule to Cebu to 108, Davao to 90, and Cagayan de Oro to 69.
Cebu Pacific will also ramp up its flights from Manila to Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan De Oro, Dumaguete, Ozamiz, Tacloban, and Zamboanga.
In addition, it will increase its flight frequency to Hong Kong from 28 to 35 per week, and to Kaohsiung from three to five per week.
With these additional flights, the airline expects to sustain its upward trajectory in passenger volume for the year.
In 2025, Cebu Pacific set a new passenger record of 26.88 million, up 9.5 percent from the previous year's 24.5 million.
