BACOLOD CITY – A 28-year-old laborer was allegedly stabbed to death by his live-in partner in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, Jan. 20, during an argument over spiders.
Police Major Ryan Villasario, Moises Padilla police chief, said the victim Inday, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and the suspect, Kalbo, 26, were having a drinking session when Kalbo asked Inday where he had been.
Inday told the suspect he left to gather spiders, and Kalbo was upset due to his absurd response, triggering an altercation.
Kalbo took a knife and stabbed the victim before fleeing. The incident was witnessed by the suspect’s 16-year-old brother who reported the crime to the police. Lawmen failed to recover the murder weapon.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Police said the victim and the suspect were in a relationship for about a year.
Authorities are currently awaiting the decision of the victim’s family if they will file a case.
