K-pop artist Wendy wraps up first world tour in Manila: 'I love you all'
K-pop artist Wendy of group Red Velvet held the finale of her first world tour “W:EALIVE” in Manila on Jan. 17 at the New Frontier Theater.
From September last year to January, Wendy held the world tour in 14 cities and regions with 17 shows, including Manila, Seoul, Taipei, and Tokyo, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York.
In the Philippines, Wendy gave Filipino fans a night filled with music, emotion, and unforgettable memories.
The tour showcased Wendy’s vocal prowess and stage presence to fans worldwide, solidifying her status as a powerhouse solo artist and creating unforgettable experiences for audiences everywhere.
The Manila stop was a celebration of the tour’s grand journey and Wendy’s connection with her Filipino fans.
Produced by L-Squared Productions as its debut event for 2026, the show brought together fans from across the Philippines—and even beyond—for a night of shared excitement, joy, and connection.
The theater was alive with energy, every seat filled and every corner pulsing with anticipation, while the audience became a dancing sea of lights, reflecting every note of Wendy’s performance.
The evening showcased Wendy as a performer from the fiery opening of “Fireproof” to the “Queen of the Party” and “Hate²,” “Best Ever,” and “Chapter You,”
She also performed ballads like “Like Water,” “Airport Goodbyes,” “Sunkiss,” and “When This Rain Stops.”
A particularly touching moment came when Wendy read a personal letter to her Manila fans, her voice trembling with emotion.
“When I first stepped onto the stage with Red Velvet, I discovered what true happiness felt like. As I released my solo albums, watching my own songs come to life one by one, a quiet dream took root in my heart, a dream of having my own stage, my own moment. These past four months have been that dream realized, and that will forever remain the most luminous chapter of my life," she said.
She thanked the team behind the world tour.
"Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped make this show possible.To our production team, our band, and the hair, makeup, and styling teams, to our company staff, the Show Note team, the APlanet team, and the local promoter team (L-Squared Productions), I truly appreciate you. Including the preparation time, it was much longer than four months, but thanks to all of you, I was able to stand on this stage,” she said.
Wendy added, “More than anything, having you by my side gave me strength, comfort, and happiness as I wrapped up this world tour. It may have felt short, or even long at times, but from beginning to end you stayed with me with the best energy. Thank you so much, and I love you all.”
Throughout the concert, Wendy commanded every inch of the stage. Her voice soared above the full house, blending technical brilliance with raw emotion, as LED wristbands, a fan project called Hiraya, lit up the theater in waves, reflecting the audience’s energy back to her.
Closing the main set with “Existential Crisis,” she filled the venue with warmth and unity, leaving fans reluctant to let the night end.
Wendy returned to the stage for a special surprise—performing three additional songs as a celebratory treat for the final leg of her tour.
Before the concert concluded, Wendy returned for a special send-off, walking around the venue and waving warmly to fans. Even those outside the theater were able to see her, capturing the moment and cheering in unison, ensuring that everyone present—inside and out—felt part of the shared celebration.
