1 hurt after electric meter row leads to shooting in Antipolo City
A man was injured after he was shot by an improvised gun, or "sumpak," by another man following an argument between the two over an electric meter on Tuesday night, Jan. 20.
According to the Antipolo City Police, the victim was attacked by the suspect, identified as "Jerry," 47, after the latter discovered that his brother sold an electric meter to the victim.
Witnesses said Jerry went on a rampage and destroyed the lights of the victim's house, prompting him to report the incident to the barangay.
As the men approached Jerry to apprehend him, the suspect suddenly drew out a sumpak and fired at the victim, hitting him in his right arm.
Jerry quickly escaped from the scene as the barangay personnel tended to the injured victim.
He was quickly rushed to Cabading Hospital for medical treatment and is now in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the police launched a manhunt for Jerry's arrest, who is still at large.
