Cops arrest man involved in fatal Christmas shooting in Manila

The Manila Police District (MPD) has successfully arrested the man tagged as the primary suspect in the death of a woman hit by a stray bullet during Christmas in Tondo last year, Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso announced Tuesday, Jan. 20.
Domagoso presented the suspect to the media identified as 24-year-old Bingber Kyle Enaje, a member of the Batang City Jail group.
According to him, Enaje was arrested in Barangay 118, Tondo, Manila last Jan. 19 after a concerned citizen reported a gun-wielding individual going berserk in public.
Upon arriving at the scene, arresting police officers recovered an unlicensed gun in Enaje's possession which led to his arrest.
Further investigation revealed that he was involved in a shootout in Barangay 120 last Dec. 25, 2025, which killed a young woman who was just visiting her boyfriend in the area.
The police said the victim was hit in her shoulder which pierced her lung. She was later declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Domagoso said Enaje will be charged with homicide, violation of Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code (Alarm and Scandal), and Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, which will be filed before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
