The city government of Pasay announced that temporary road closures will be implemented on several major thoroughfares on Jan. 25 in line with the Sto. Niño Grand Procession.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the Pasay Traffic and Parking Management Office (PTPMO), under the supervision of Ferdinand Lee, has identified roads that will be closed or partially closed to vehicular traffic starting at 12:00 noon.
Rubiano explained that the temporary road closures are intended to ensure the safety of devotees participating in the Sto. Niño Grand Procession and to allow the smooth flow of the religious activity scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m.
The following areas will be affected by the activity: Derham Park and F.B. Harrison, while EDSA will be partially closed. Roxas Boulevard will also be partially closed, from EDSA to the Traders Hotel, including Buendia Avenue along Roxas Boulevard.
Lee said that to help ease traffic congestion, motorists are encouraged to take the following alternate routes: Diokno Boulevard, Macapagal Avenue, P. Ocampo Street, Taft Avenue, and Park Avenue.
He advised motorists to plan their trips ahead of time, follow traffic advisories, and expect possible delays in the affected areas.
