Cavite 1st District Rep. Jolo Revilla called for fairness following the voluntary surrender of his father, former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., to the Philippine National Police (PNP) at Camp Crame, Quezon City, on Monday, Jan. 19.
The surrender came after an arrest warrant was issued against the older Revilla and several others in connection with an alleged anomalous flood control project in Bulacan.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Jan. 20, the congressman said his father’s decision was “a deliberate step to confront the accusations head-on and to affirm his faith in our legal institutions.”
He also said that his father believes that the proper place to resolve the issues thrown at him is inside the courtroom, where facts, rather than speculation, matter.
