Police arrested a man tagged as the Muntinlupa police’s No. 8 most wanted person who was convicted by a court in a drug case.
The suspect, identified as alias Gerard, 41, was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 19 at his residence in Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig.
He was served a warrant of arrest for service of sentence in a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
The arrest was conducted by the Intelligence Section of the District Mobile Force Battalion of the Southern Police District (SPD), together with a joint team from the District Special Operations Unit and Warrant and Subpoena Section of the Muntinlupa and Makati police.
The warrant of arrest was issued on Jan. 16 by Presiding Judge Jacob Montesa II of the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 63.
Gerard was convicted for violation of Section 14 of Republic Act 9165, pertaining to the possession of drug paraphernalia during parties, social gatherings, or meetings.
"The apprehension of Muntinlupa’s eighth most wanted individual is a clear message that the Southern Police District is relentless in its pursuit of wanted persons. We are dedicated to ensuring that those with standing sentences are brought back to the fold of justice to serve their time," said Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, SPD district director.
