BAGUIO CITY – The City Health Services Office (CHSO) has urged people to practice basic health protocols as 18 ‘’super flu’’ cases were recorded here, with the first case detected last Oct. 15.
Dr. Donabel Tubera-Panes of the CHSO epidemiology and surveillance unit said most of those infected were children. All cases have recovered from the illness caused by the common cold.
Panes advised people to follow a healthy lifestyle and those who are not feeling well should voluntarily wear a face mask, wash their hands regularly and sanitize, and seek medical attention.
She said that influenza-like illnesses in the city have spread throughout the year. Some notable increases were in the middle of the year, especially from July to October, based on the three-year monitoring from 2023 to 2025.
