A 29-year-old man wanted for a carnapping case in Antipolo City was arrested by operatives of the Las Piñas City Police following a surveillance operation on Jan. 19.
New Las Piñas police chief Col. Wilson Delos Santos identified the suspect as Joel. He was nabbed at around 5:00 p.m. at a local mall in Barangay Talon Uno.
Delos Santos said the arrest was carried out by personnel of the Warrant and Subpoena Section, backed by members of Talon Police Sub-Station, after verification with the Records and Clearance Section confirmed that Joel was listed as the No. 2 most wanted person in the city for violation of the New Anti-Carnapping Act under Republic Act 10833 in Antipolo City.
Joel was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Aileen Liza Mamasabulod David of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 137, Fourth Judicial Region, Antipolo City, with a recommended bail of P300,000.
The suspect was detained at the Las Piñas City Police custodial facility pending further court orders.
