300 Negros cops deployed to secure Dinagyang

BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) deployed 300 personnel to reinforce security in the Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo City from Jan. 22 to 26.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, led the send-off ceremony in Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr., Barangay Estefania here on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
Ibay said their deployment reciprocates the support that the Police Regional Office-6 extended during the Masskara Festival in this highly-urbanized city.
He reminded them to prioritize their personal safety while performing their duties and ensuring the safety and security of the celebration.
Ibay said that every officer must return safe and sound as the protection of their own lives is as important as safeguarding the public.
The PRO-NIR assured the people that their deployment will not in any way hamper or compromise security coverage in the region.
