BUTUAN CITY – Police said the Feast of Santo Niño (Child Jesus) in Barangay Libertad here on Sunday, Jan. 18, was generally peaceful.
Police Regional Office-13 Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer credited this to the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies and the city government.
PRO-13 chief Police Brig. Gen. Marcial Magistrado IV directed Butuan City Police Office Director Police Col. Restituto P. Lacano to lead efforts to maintain peace and order and securing devotees.
“I am pleased to announce that our security preparations yielded positive outcomes,” Ometer said. “Thank God that these big events were generally peaceful, with no untoward incident.”
Ometer said the BCPO also ensured public safety by deploying more personnel ahead of the celebration.
Lacana ordered all the five station commanders of BCPO to be on their posts to immediately act on any untoward incidents.
