NBI arrests ex-DPWH engineers Hernandez, Mendoza

The arrests followed the issuance of warrants of arrest and hold departure orders by the Sandiganbayan Third Division over graft and malversation charges linked to alleged ghost flood control projects in Pandi, Bulacan.

NBI agents arrested Hernandez and Mendoza shortly after 8 p.m. at their detention facility inside the Senate.

The two will be temporarily held at the NBI Central Office.

Hernandez and Mendoza, former DPWH Bulacan officials, had been detained at the Senate for four months after being cited in contempt for giving false testimony.
