Bayanan Lakeshore Public Park for families, children opened in Muntinlupa
The Muntinlupa City government opened the Bayanan Lakeshore Public Park in Barangay Bayanan on Jan. 17, providing a leisure area to the public, including families and children.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon, together with Muntinlupa Rep. Jaime Fresnedi and other officials, opened the facility.
The public park has a playground for children, gazebo, green space where people can relax and have picnics, an event platform, a circular area for activities like zumba or where students can practice, ramps for persons with disabilities, and new comfort rooms.
Biazon encouraged the public to cooperate to maintain the park’s cleanliness and prevent the destruction of any facilities.
“Bukas ang park para sa lahat, basta’t susunod lang tayo sa operating hours at guidelines. Kaya may perimeter fence at papabantayan din natin ang park for security measures. Gusto kasi nating magamit ito sa mahabang panahon pero mangyayari lamang ‘yon kung magtutulungan tayong lahat sa pangangalaga nito at ipapakita nating may disiplina tayo sa paggamit (The park is open to everyone, as long as we follow the operating hours and guidelines. That's why there is a perimeter fence and we will also monitor the park for security measures. We want it to be used for a long time, but that will only happen if we all work together to maintain it and show that we have discipline in using it),” said Biazon.
He added, “Paalala ko lang po, ang bawat open recreational space sa Muntinlupa ay pinondohan mula sa pera ng taumbayan, para rin sa kapakinabangan ng mamamayan. Pinaghihirapan nating ayusin at pagandahin ang lungsod kaya hindi katanggap-tanggap ang pagsira dito (Just a reminder, every open recreational space in Muntinlupa is funded from the people's money, also for the benefit of the people. We are working hard to fix and beautify the city, so destroying it is unacceptable).”
Biazon cited an incident wherein before the park opened, several youths destroyed things and plants.
“Responsibilidad nating lahat ang kapayapaan at kaayusan. Sama-sama tayong mag-alaga sa mga pasilidad ng lungsod. Huwag natin itong sirain, bagkus, mahalin, igalang, at maayos na gamitin (Peace and order are all our responsibility. Let us take care of the city's facilities together. Let us not destroy them, but rather, love them, respect them, and use them properly),” he said.
