844 Filipinos deported from Sabah

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Some 844 Filipino deportees from Sabah arrived at the Zamboanga City port on Saturday, Jan. 17.
The group, composed of 518 adult males and 210 adult females and children, was transported by the MV Antonia, a commercial vessel plying the Zamboanga City-Malaysia route via Sandakan.
Department of Social Welfare and Development-9 personnel assisted the returning Filipinos by providing them hot meals while their papers were being processed.
They were temporarily brought to the Processing Center for Displaced Persons to undergo profiling and assessment while the agency prepares their travel to their places of origin.
