ILOILO CITY – The Iloilo Business Park of property developer Megaworld Corp. has unveiled two 10-foot art installations depicting warriors of the Dinagyang Festival.
The Dino and Dina art installations by AR Sculptura “represents the strength and bravery of the precolonial Ilonggo warrior, symbolizing courage, unity, and resilience.”
Dino and Dina plush toys were also launched. These plush toys can be souvenir items for visitors and locals as Iloilo City gears for the Jan. 24 to 25 highlight of the Dinagyang, a festival in honor of the Santo Niño or Child Jesus.
Present at the ceremony were Western Visayas Regional Development Council co-chairperson Jobert Peñaflorida, Department of Tourism (DOT)-Western Visayas Regional Director Crisanta “Krisma” Rodriguez, Iloilo City Councilor Mandrie Malabor, Iloilo City MICE Director Lea Lara, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI Iloilo) President Noi Dongor, Festive Walk Iloilo General Manager Alyssa Bañares, and Richmonde and Belmont Hotels Iloilo General Manager Joy Alonte.
In coordination with the Iloilo Festivals Foundation Inc. (IFFI), the 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park will host side events of this year’s Dinagyang – art exhibitions, concerts with bands and celebrities, a fashion show, a weeklong food festival, and fireworks show at Iloilo Business Park.
“With Dinagyang celebrations unfolding across our mall, hotels, museums, residential communities, and convention center, Iloilo Business Park proudly upholds its role as the city’s center of arts and culture,” said Graham Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, in a statement.
“Through immersive art, exciting celebrity-led performances, and vibrant cultural showcases, the township becomes a shared stage where heritage, creativity, and community are celebrated,” Coates added.
