A 23-year-old woman in Taytay, Rizal, was hospitalized after being shot by a man while livestreaming on social media on Friday night, Jan. 16.

Based on the Taytay Municipal Police Station’s (Taytay MPS) investigation, the victim, identified as “Paloma,” was standing and tending to a vegetable store at Blk. 4, Purok 4, Kenneth Road in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taytay, at around 7:30 p.m
Near the end of her two-hour Facebook Live, the suspect, identified as “Freddie,” who was wearing a mask and a cap, was seen on the livestream approaching the victim from behind and suddenly shooting her in the head while she was working.
After the shooting, authorities said the suspect escaped toward Purok 4, Lupang Arenda. Meanwhile, the victim was rushed by her relatives to Pasig City General Hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities are now conducting a manhunt for the suspect, who will be charged with frustrated murder, while the investigation continues to determine the motive behind the shooting.
