Pasig LGU to implement traffic rerouting for Bambino Grand Parade on Jan. 18

The Pasig City government will implement traffic advisories and rerouting schemes on Sunday, Jan. 18, marking the 25th Bambino Grand Festival.

According to the Pasig City Public Information Office (PIO), the event will start at 1 p.m., with the thanksgiving mass and Bambino Grand Parade.
It added that several major roads will be temporarily closed to give way to the parade, which will begin at Caruncho Avenue and Road 2 and end at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Pasig.
Roads affected by the temporary closure include:
-Caruncho Avenue (westbound)
-Road 2 going to Tanghalang Pasigueño
-M.H. del Pilar Street in San Nicolas and Sto. Tomas
-E. Angeles Street in Sto. Tomas
-Dr. Pilapil Street in Sagad
-Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue and A. Mabini Street in Kapasigan
-Plaza Rizal Intersection
-P. Burgos Street in San Jose
-Lopez Jaena Street in Bagong Katipunan
-Dr. Garcia Street in Sumilang
-R. Jabson Street in Bambang and Malinao.
The parade route will start at Caruncho Avenue and Road 2, turn left to F. Manalo Street, right to Caruncho Avenue, right to M.H. del Pilar Street, left to E. Angeles Street, left to Dr. Pilapil Street, right to Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue, left to A. Mabini Street, right to P. Burgos Street, left to Lopez Jaena Street, left to Dr. Garcia Street, left to R. Jabson Street, and end at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral of Pasig.
To manage traffic flow, the local government will also enforce a traffic rerouting scheme for affected areas. Vehicles coming from Bagumbayan, San Joaquin, and C-5 Road heading to Mutya ng Pasig Mega Market will be advised to pass through Elisco Road, M. Jimenez Street, Kalawaan Bridge, F. Antonio Street, and Balderrama Street.
Motorists traveling from Mutya ng Pasig Mega Market to San Joaquin and Bagumbayan will be rerouted via Market Avenue, Caruncho Avenue, F. Manalo Street, F. Antonio Street, Pio Alvarez Street, Kalawaan Bridge, and Elisco Road.
Alternative routes were also designated for vehicles coming from Rotonda, San Joaquin, Pateros, Sto. Tomas, and Marikina, as well as those heading to Crossing, Quiapo, and Eastern Rizal.
The local government noted that Market Avenue will be temporarily one-way southbound, E. Angeles Street in Barangays Sagad and Sto. Tomas will be temporarily one-way eastbound, while Caruncho Avenue on the Pasig Sports Center side will remain temporarily two-way.
The city government urged motorists to take alternate routes, follow traffic signage, and heed instructions from traffic enforcers to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the religious and cultural activities.
It added that residents who are unable to attend the parade in person may watch the event through a livestream on the official Facebook page of the Pasig City Public Information Office.
