Child, 7, hit, killed by pickup truck in Ilocos Sur

SUYO, Ilocos Sur – A seven-year-old child was hit and killed by a pickup truck in Barangay Uso here on Friday afternoon, Jan. 16.
Police said the victim suddenly crossed the road after alighting from a tricycle and was struck by the vehicle driven by a 38-year-old man from Itogon, Benguet.
Her mother was unloading their belongings and did not notice her crossing the road.
The victim sustained multiple injuries and taken to a hospital where she died.
The driver of the pickup truck was unharmed and under the custody of the Suyo Police Station for proper disposition.
Police reminded parents to watch their children at all times.
