67-year-old man arrested for stabbing neighbor in Muntinlupa
Police arrested a 67-year-old man who stabbed his neighbor over the filing of a complaint for sexual act was arrested in Muntinlupa on Jan. 16.
The suspect, identified as alias Rodolfo, was arrested by the Muntinlupa police in Southville 3 housing project in Barangay Poblacion.
The arrest stemmed from Rodolfo’s dispute with a neighbor. The neighbor, identified as alias Edan, 39, went to the Southville 3 Barangay Poblacion Satellite Office to file a complaint against the suspect about an alleged malicious sexual act done against her stepdaughter who is a minor.
After both parties had a settlement in the barangay, they returned home. The police said the suspect stabbed the victim in the stomach in front of their houses.
When the police arrived, the suspect was inside his house holding a bolo and vowed to stab himself if the police arrested him.
The first responders called Capt. Roselyn German, commander of the Poblacion Police Substation, and went to the housing area to negotiate with the suspect to surrender.
After an hour, Poblacion Barangay Captain Allen Ampaya arrived to negotiate with the suspect who requested his presence.
The Muntinlupa SWAT team arrived. After an hour of negotiation without any progress, the SWAT team entered the house and arrested the suspect.
The police recovered a jungle bolo and a kitchen knife. The suspect was brought to the Poblacion Police Sub-station.
The suspect sustained self-inflicted injuries in the right leg and left arm, which were initially treated by the Barangay Poblacion Rescue.
He was turned over to the Muntinlupa police’s Station Investigation and Detective Management Section for the filing of charges.
