Traffic advisory released by the Manila Police District
Manila authorities have announced road closures and traffic rerouting in the eastern area of Sto Niño de Tondo in connection with the Feast of Sto Niño de Tondo 2026, which is expected to draw large crowds of devotees.
According to the Manila Police District, road closures will be implemented from 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 17 until 12 midnight on Jan.18 to ensure public safety and to manage the flow of vehicles during the religious celebration.
The following intersections will be closed to traffic during the period:
-Moriones and Sta Maria
-Moriones and J Nolasco
-Moriones and N Zamora
-Asuncion and Morga
-Asuncion and Ortega
-Juan Luna and Morga
-Juan Luna and Chacon
-P Herrera and Cano
-P Herrera and Ylaya
-Lakandula and Carmen Planas
Motorists are advised to follow designated rerouting schemes while the closures are in effect.
All vehicles coming from Asuncion Street are advised to turn left to Tuazon Street or pass through Lakandula, Carmen Planas, P Herrera, and Juan Luna Street to reach their destinations.
Vehicles coming from Moriones Street and heading toward J Nolasco Street are advised to proceed straight to Dagupan Street as an alternate route.
Meanwhile, vehicles coming from Pritil via N Zamora Street are advised to turn left to Moriones Street and then turn left again to Dagupan Street to reach their destinations.
The Manila Police District urged motorists to plan their trips ahead of time, follow traffic personnel on the ground, and expect delays in the area during the celebration. Authorities also appealed for public cooperation to ensure the safe and orderly observance of the Feast of Sto Niño de Tondo.
Large numbers of devotees are expected to attend religious activities and processions during the two-day celebration.
