Taguig health office, centers to decline lab requests, prescriptions from private hospitals
Laboratories of the Taguig City Health Office and health centers will not accept laboratory requests and prescriptions coming from private clinics and hospitals.
This was announced by the Taguig City Health Office on Jan. 16, saying that laboratory services given by the city government and medicine provided by health centers are based on recommendations by health center physicians.
As part of the ongoing implementation of proper and responsible health services, laboratory services performed in Taguig City Government laboratories and medications dispensed in health centers are based on the recommendations of health center physicians),” the health office posted on Facebook.
It said the process ensures that each patient receives appropriate and necessary tests and medications for their condition.
Therefore, these requests and prescriptions will not be accepted by the city health office and health centers' laboratories),” it explained.
The health office encouraged residents to consult with the nearest Taguig health center before undergoing any laboratory test or seeking medication from the health center.
Through this consultation, the patient's needs are better assessed and laboratory procedures and medications that are in line with medical guidelines and suit their condition can be recommended),” it added.
