ILOILO CITY – First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos congratulated examinees of the West Visayas State University (WVSU) who passed the 2025 Bar examinations.
“All we could talk about was how well our examinees did in the recent Bar exams. Woohoo!” said the First Lady in her Facebook page on Thursday, Jan. 15.
All 12 graduates of the WVSU College of Law passed the 2025 Bar examinations.
The WVSU College of Law under the helm of Dean Ian Thomas Besana and his predecessor Pauline Grace B. Alfuente ranked first among the country’s law schools with 11 to 50 examinees.
The First Lady shared in her Facebook account photos of her first day in class this year with her students.
“This will be my fourth and final year of teaching this spirited bunch. They’ll be graduating in May and then they'll be taking the Bar exam in September,” she wrote. “And yes, I reminded them they better top the Bar. No pressure. Just dreams, discipline, and a little faith,” she added.
The First Lady has roots in Iloilo. Her father Manuel Araneta Jr. is from Iloilo City. Her mother Milagros Ledesma Cacho is from Iloilo and Negros.
Marcos has been teaching law at WVSU since 2022.
