Big Hit Music revealed that the title of K-pop superstars BTS’ upcoming album and world tour is “Arirang.”
On Jan. 16, the agency updated the notices on the fan community platform Weverse, including the original Jan. 13 announcement about the world tour, to reveal the word “Arirang.”
“Arirang,” the title of BTS’ new album, is widely known as South Korea’s representative folk song.
The album, which will be released on March 20, contains 14 tracks, each filled with the emotions and struggles they've accumulated over their journey. It also includes a message to their fans, who have consistently supported them.
BTS's return to full group activities will be their first since the release of their anthology album "Proof" in June 2022, about three years and nine months ago.
BTS embody their identity as a group that originated in Korea, as well as the longing and deep love that reside within their hearts, in the album.
Big Hit Music explained that the title "Arirang" is a representative Korean folk song and a word that symbolically captures the emotions the members want to express in their new album.
“Ahead of their long-awaited comeback, BTS naturally focused on the team’s roots, starting point, and inner stories. We expect the new album to resonate widely with people around the world by dealing with universal emotions such as longing and deep love,” said Big Hit Music, Korean media reported.
After the album’s release, BTS will embark on their “Arirang” world tour, kicking it off at Goyang Stadium in South Korea on April 9.
The tour will span 79 shows in 34 cities across North America, Europe, South America, and Asia, the most shows for a single tour by a K-pop artist.
BTS will hold the concert in the Philippines on March 13 and 14, 2027.
The tour will also feature a 360-degree stage to enhance the immersion of the performance.
