Ada-triggered landslides, flooding swamp Eastern Visayas

TACLOBAN CITY – Landslide and flooding were reported in Eastern Visayas due to tropical cyclone “Ada” on Friday.
A landslide was reported in Ormoc City and flooding in Barangay Sabang, Naval, Biliran; Barangay Bulalacao, Kawayan, Biliran, and Naga-Naga in Tacloban City.
Police have been deployed to quick response teams and evacuation areas and vital installations.
As of 11 a.m., 17 families comprised of 61 individuals evacuated in Biliran and Eastern Samar.
Fifteen sea trips have been cancelled with a total of 1,971 stranded passengers in sea ports.
All major roads and highways remain passable.
All provinces have been placed under tropical cyclone wind signal No. 1. Classes have been suspended in these areas.
