The Malabon City government, in partnership with the International Academy of Medical Specialists (IAMS), is conducting a three-day humanitarian medical and surgical outreach program providing free eye care and minor surgical services to up to 1,000 Malabueños.
According to the city government, the outreach initiative, dubbed “SEE–Malabon City: Operation Klaro,” runs from Thursday, Jan. 15, to Saturday, Jan. 17.
The program offers free eye consultations, cataract and pterygium surgeries, glaucoma screening, and selected minor surgical procedures for qualified residents.
The city’s Public Information Office said the program is a joint effort of the City Health Department, Ospital ng Malabon, the Partnerships Office, and IAMS.
It aims to bring specialized healthcare services closer to the community, particularly to residents with limited access to medical treatment.

Mayor Jeannie Sandoval led the opening of the program at the Malabon Sports Complex, where beneficiaries underwent medical consultations and surgical screening.
Through the collaboration of the city government and IAMS, we are able to bring medical services closer to those who usually have difficulty accessing them),” she said.
Through this outreach program, we are not only ensuring the safety and health of our residents, but also giving them peace of mind and hope for a better future for their families),” Sandoval added.
Qualified patients will undergo eye and minor surgical procedures on the second day of the program at the operating rooms of Ospital ng Malabon.
The surgeries will be performed by volunteer surgeons, nurses, and allied health professionals from IAMS.
City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete said the outreach highlighted the city government’s continued focus on strengthening healthcare delivery through partnerships with medical groups.
Through the collective efforts of the local government and partner institutions, our medical services become more inclusive and effective),” Rosete said.
The local government said post-operative checkups will be conducted on the final day of the program to ensure proper recovery and continuity of care, followed by a Holy Mass at San Bartolome Church.
It added that the city will continue to pursue similar initiatives to further expand access to quality healthcare services for residents.
