For Kris, however, “minor” proved to be anything but.
“I haven’t fully processed what happened,” she wrote on social media, recounting that there was a span of almost two minutes when her lungs stopped functioning.
“I stopped breathing,” she emphasized.
The incident adds another chapter to Kris’ long and public battle with multiple autoimmune diseases, a condition that has forced her to live cautiously and under constant medical supervision — a reality she has never sugarcoated, even as she continues to share updates with characteristic honesty.
Aquino expressed gratitude to her medical team, including her anesthesiologist, surgeons, and rheumatologist, whose swift response prevented the situation from worsening.
She also credited her son Bimby for giving her emotional strength during recovery.
Notably, the procedure had already been postponed days prior due to elevated blood pressure.
Despite everything, Kris ended her message on a reflective note, weaving in lines from The Beatles’ “Let It Be” — a familiar anthem about endurance and acceptance.
