TACLOBAN CITY – A suspected drug pusher was killed in a buy-bust operation Wednesday in Barangay Rawis, Calbayog City.
Police Col. Dinvir Revita, Calbayog City police chief, identified the suspect as Popo of Barangay Looc, Calbayog City.
The suspect, also a suspected gunrunner, sensed he was dealing with a poseur-buyer after receiving the P15,000 buy-bust money.
Popo drew a short firearm and fired at arresting police officers who retaliated and wounded the suspect.
The suspect was taken to the Calbayog District Hospital where he was declared dead.
Police recovered two live 9mm rounds, a live .45 round, 10 fired 9mm cartridge cases, five fired .45 cartridge cases, and a .45 caliber pistol with a magazine and live ammunition in the area.
Found from the suspect were the buy-bust money and eight sachets of suspected shabu valued at P6,800.
