Police operatives arrested a man and a woman who yielded 200 grams of shabu worth P1.36 million in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Jan. 14.
The Southern Police District’s District Drug Enforcement Unit nabbed the two suspects identified as alias Tol, a mechanic, and alias Angelica, 31, a nail artist and online seller.
The two high-value drug suspects were arrested in the sting operation conducted in front of the Sto. Niño Chapel along Meralco Road in Barangay Lower Bicutan, Taguig. The two are residents of the barangay.
Seized during the operation were four plastic sachets containing the shabu. Authorities also recovered the buy-bust money, consisting of one genuine P1,000 bill and 49 pieces of photocopied boodle money, along with a mobile phone and a white envelope.
The seized evidence was turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
Criminal complaints for violation of Sections 5 (sale) and 11 (possession) will be filed against the suspects with the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.
Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, SPD district director, said, “The arrest of two high-value drug personalities and the seizure of more than ₱1.36 million worth of illegal drugs send a strong message that the SPD remains relentless in dismantling drug networks and protecting our communities.”
