Notorious pickpocket nabbed for illegal drugs, gambling in Makati

A pickpocket notorious for victimizing passengers of public utility jeepneys (PUJ) in Makati was arrested by the Makati City Police after being caught engaged in illegal gambling last Jan. 8.
The suspect was identified as "Carl," 25, and a resident of Barangay Pio del Pilar.
Based on the police report, Carl and some of his buddies were spotted by the police engaged in illegal gambling along Medina Street in Barangay Pio del Pilar.
Upon apprehending the suspects, the police recovered from them the gambling money, as well as 0.6 grams of shabu worth P4,080 from Carl.
Further investigation also revealed that Carl had been involved in multiple cases of pickpocketing and snatching aboard PUJs.
Carl is currently facing illegal drugs and gambling charges, while the rest of the arrested suspects will be charged with illegal gambling charges.
Southern Police District (SPD) District Director Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo commended the arresting policemen and emphasized the district’s continued commitment to curbing street-level criminality.
“The arrest reflects our sustained efforts to address crimes that directly affect public safety and community peace. The Southern Police District will continue to enforce the law firmly and fairly,” Arceo said.
