Never lose your ticket again! Ticketnet announces movie, concert, game tickets can now be stored in Google Wallet
You know that anxious feeling that you get when you keep on checking your ticket (whether it be for a movie you are about to see, or a concert you are about to attend, or a game you’re about to watch) just to make sure that you still have it? Well, you can cross that anxiety off your checklist because Ticketnet just announced that movie, sports, and concert fans will be able to store their tickets on Google Wallet.
When purchasing movie, game, or concert tickets, fans will now see an “Add to Google Wallet” option, which allows you to store the ticket in your Google Wallet and to just show and tap that when entering the movie theater or the concert — or sports venue.
In a statement, Irene Jose, the chief operating officer of Uniprom Inc., the parent company of Ticketnet – which is also a business unit of the Araneta Group of Companies shared that it is one of the first services that will integrate Google Wallet in its system.
“This will mean easier access and more convenient ticketing for our customers,” Jose said.
If you don’t mind not having a physical printed ticket – for sentimental value, then you might consider just storing your tickets in your Google Wallet.
“Just whip out your phone, have it (the ticket) scanned and you’re ready to watch a movie, see your favorite artists perform in a concert, or even cheer for your sports teams!” Jose added.
When Google Wallet was launched first, Ticketnet was among the initial partners.
“The move also aligns with the broader direction of entertainment venues and ticketing platforms worldwide, where digital wallets are becoming a standard companion for fans heading to concerts, games, and movies,” Jose said.
Aside from the earlier mentioned, you can also store loyalty cards and vouchers, such as IKEA Family card membership and Mang Inasal vouchers. Google Wallet can also be used to Tap and Pay at the MRT-3.
