Mayor Maan vows to support Marikina police plans, programs to boost public safety

Mayor Maan Teodoro on Monday, Jan. 12, vowed to support all plans and programs of the Marikina City Police Station to strengthen peace, order, and the safety of residents in the city.

The partnership between the city government and the Marikina CPS was further reinforced during a New Year’s Call, led by Col. Jenny DC Tecson with the mayor at Café Kapitan in Barangay Sta. Elena.
The activity aimed to strengthen coordination between the station and the local government, highlighting their joint commitment to the city’s security and the well-being of its people.
Teodoro reaffirmed the city government’s support for all Marikina CPS programs and plans, particularly those related to law enforcement and public safety. She also stressed the importance of strictly enforcing the city ordinance on curfew hours, including the use of force multipliers to ensure its effective implementation.
In addition, she reaffirmed her commitment to completing the Marikina CPS Headquarters along Fortune Avenue in Barangay Fortune, noting that at least two additional floors may soon be used by station personnel while construction of the planned eight-storey building continues.
Support for police officers
Aside from supporting the agency, Teodoro also expressed her appreciation for the personnel of the Marikina CPS, acknowledging their dedicated service.
She highlighted that one of the city government’s flagship programs provides funding for the schooling and continuing education of police personnel to support their professional development.
Teodoro also expressed her willingness to offer employment opportunities within the city government to police personnel nearing retirement, as part of recognition for their years of service.
The Marikina CPS and the city government also emphasized their shared goal of ensuring effective governance and public safety for all residents.
