Honest barangay tanod praised for returning lost wallet in Legazpi City

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay - Police cited a barangay tanod here for returning a lost wallet containing cash amounting to P9,350.
The honest barangay tanod was identified as Rey Agripa Besmejo of Barangay Tula-Tula.
Besmejo turned over the wallet to the police instead of keeping its contents.
In a Facebook post, the Legazpi City Police Station (LCPS) commended Besmejo for his integrity, describing his action as an example worthy of emulation.
Police appealed to the public to help locate the wallet’s owner.
"Anyone who knows Rico Marvin Prellegera is encouraged to inform him that his lost wallet is currently being kept at the Legazpi City Police Station for proper claiming."
The LCPS assured the public that the wallet and its contents remain safe and will be released to the rightful owner upon verification of identity.
The owner said he has claimed his wallet and thanked Besmejo for his honesty.
Besmejo also received praise from netizens for his honesty.
