Aurora Gaming knocking on M7 playoff door with romp of Team Zone
Edward “Edward” Dapadap spearheaded Aurora Gaming PH to a 1-0 victory over Mongolian crew Team Zone in the third round of the swiss stage in the M7 World Championship at the XO Hall in Jakarta, Indonesia on Monday, Jan. 12.
The star EXP laner, who is now on his fifth world championship appearance, stamped his class and ran wild on the Arlott pick as Aurora essayed a dominant 20-10 win.
Edward exploded for an impressive 7-2-7 line — including a huge outplay that started things going for Aurora in the first five minutes.
Thrusted to a 2-on-4 battle right on the opponents' jungle area, Edward outmaneuvered Team Zone and scored a triple kill before going down in the 3-for-1 kill exchange.
That skirmish alone allowed the Filipinos to seize control of the contest and while they saw some resistance from the Mongolians, Aurora completed a wipeout on its final Lord siege at the 19th minute mark.
Jan “Domengkite” Del Mundo was equally impressive on his Claude with a 6-2-5 KDA just as Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo also provided support with a 2-2-15 tally on his Yve.
With the win, not only that Aurora has come out triumphant in back-to-back matches after starting its campaign on a loss but it has also moved a win away from reaching the knockout stage.
Aurora is seeking redemption in this year’s world championship after missing out on the playoffs last year when the Filipino bets opened the tournament with back-to-back losses and eventually bowing out in Round 4 of the swiss stage.
