Teenage girl beheaded in Bukidnon; suspect arrested

A missing 15-year-old Grade 9 student was found dead and beheaded in Valencia City, Bukidnon on Thursday, Jan. 8.
Police identified the victim as Jennifer Encarnacion.
Encarnacion was reported missing on Tuesday, Jan. 6, after she failed to return home from school.
A search was conducted and her remains were found in a sugarcane plantation in Barangay Dagat on Thursday.
A suspect, who served time for murder, was apprehended by authorities during a manhunt operation.
Police said a P200,000 reward was instrumental in the identification and arrest of the suspect.
Local officials presented the suspect to the media in a press conference.
Lawmen are conducting follow-up investigation and determining if Encarnacion was raped.
