Government anti-narcotics agents seized around P114.5 worth of shabu following the arrest of three men during the interdiction operation at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) complex, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) stated on Sunday, Jan. 11.
In its report, the PDEA said that broker representatives alias L.A. and alias F.S. and porter alias E.F. were collared on Jan. 8 at around 6:54 p.m. by the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG) at the NAIA Pairpags Center.
Seized were 16,848 grams of shabu from four boxes wrapped with packaging tape.
“A total of 66 transparent plastic bags containing the suspected illegal drugs were recovered, with individual box contents weighing 3,622 grams, 4,320 grams, 4,599 grams, and 4,307 grams,’’ the PDEA said.
Aside from shabu, authorities also confiscated sling bags, mobile phones, identification cards, a motorcycle key, a helmet, and P 34,885 cash.
The arrested suspects are currently under custody and face charges for violation of Section 4 (Importation of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’
