Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the wire-clearing activities will be implemented in Barangays 164 and 165, which aim to remove excess, idle, and unauthorized wires, commonly known as spaghetti wires, from utility poles and streetscapes.
She said that it will help enhance public safety by preventing accidents such as fires, electrocution, and traffic disruptions, while also improving urban aesthetics and decluttering the city.
The activity aligns with the city’s efforts to create cleaner, safer, and more organized communities.
Meanwhile, authorities urged residents and business owners in the affected areas to cooperate with the clearing teams and take the necessary precautions during the scheduled activity.
While temporary inconveniences may be experienced, the local government assured the public that the project will provide long-term benefits to the community.
The local government and Meralco reiterated their commitment to sustaining programs that promote public safety and improve the overall quality of life of Pasayeños.
