LACSON and Gonesto
ILOILO CITY – Two Catholic priests from Panay Island passed the 2025 Bar Examinations – Fr. Gerald Lacson of the Santo Niño de Guinsang-an parish in Hamtic town, Antique province and Fr. Generous “Gee” Gonesto of the University of San Agustin (USA) in Iloilo City.
Lacson is the first priest assigned in the Diocese of Antique to pass the Bar. The 51-year-old Lacson passed the Bar in his fifth try after earning a law degree from Central Philippine University (CPU) in Iloilo City in 2015.
“If you can't pass the first exam or the second, don't give up and never surrender!" Lacson told K5 News in Antique.
The Augustinian Gonesto was also a repeat taker and finally passed the Bar in his fourth try.
Gonesto is the regent of USA’s College of Nursing, Nutrition, and Dietetics.
