PRO-NIR seizes P286-M illegal drugs in 2025

BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) has confiscated illegal drugs amounting to P286,724,330 across three provinces, including this highly-urbanized city, since its reactivation last March.

Lawmen recovered 41.9 kilos of shabu valued at P285,459,866.96 and 10.5 kilos of marijuana worth P1,264,463.48.

The PRO-NIR conducted 1,717 strategic operations, resulting in the arrest of 2,077 drug personalities from March 28 to Dec. 31.

The Bacolod City Police Office confiscated illegal drugs worth P128,949,794 in 444 police operations and apprehended 586 drug personalities. It was followed by the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office which recovered P127.9 million illegal drugs and nabbed 406 drug personalities in 385 operations.

The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office conducted 864 and confiscated P29,792,928.4 worth of illegal drugs and arrested 1,059 drug offenders.

The Siquijor Provincial Police Office arrested 26 violators of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. It seized P45,077.20 worth of shabu in 24 police operations.

The PRO-NIR underscored the importance of joint intelligence, teamwork, and community support in effectively disrupting illegal drug networks, protecting communities, and ensuring that its enforcement efforts deliver lasting results across the region.

Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, recognized the courage, discipline, and teamwork of personnel in carrying out intelligence-driven operations, emphasizing their crucial efforts in achieving significant gains.

He commended all PRO-NIR units for their dedication, professionalism, and tireless commitment in the 2025 anti-illegal drug campaign.
