Korean-Japanese global band Hrtz.wav will be debuting in the first half of the year, company Kakao Entertainment announced.
Kakao Entertainment confirmed the debut, promising to leverage its music business capabilities to provide Hrtz.wav with support and establish it as a globally iconic band.
“Please look forward to the musical adventure of Hrtz.wav, which will lead the new wave of band music reflecting our youth,” said Kakao Entertainment.
The band’s name is a combination of “Hertz,” referring to the heart and soul, as well as the frequency of sound, and “wav,” symbolizing raw, high-quality sound and waves.
Member Keiten took part in naming the group to capture the band’s identity.
The members of Hrtz.wav are the five winners from Mnet’s “Steal Heart Club,” a global band-making project by Kakao Entertainment and CJ ENM.
The competition show premiered in October and crowned winners in key band roles–Keiten (guitar,) Hagiwa (drum,) Dane (bass,) Riaan (vocals,) and Youn Young-jun (keyboard).
Coupled with their distinctive personalities and charms, the members built a strong fanbase, proving their potential as the next-generation global icons.
Fans are showing high expectations for Hrtz.wav as the five members have joined forces to create their own unique band sound and synergy.
The band unveiled their first group profile photo on their official social media channels on Jan. 7.
Hrtz.wav appeared on Mnet’s music show “M Countdown” on Jan. 8, showcasing their first-ever performance as a new band with “A Youth of One Day,” a signal song from “Steal Heart Club.”
Actress Moon Ga-young, the emcee of “Steal Heart Club,” participated in penning the lyrics for the fast-paced pop rock song, which vividly portrays the thrill and insecurity of youth, as well as the authentic emotions of each moment.
