Quiapo Church and local authorities have issued final reminders to devotees ahead of Traslacion 2026, urging the public to strictly observe the prescribed do’s and don’ts to ensure safety, order, and solemnity during the annual procession of Jesus Nazarene.
Under the theme “Dapat Siyang Itaas, At Ako Namang Ibaba,” the guidelines reiterate that devotees are prohibited from climbing the Andas, pushing or shoving fellow devotees, and merging into the flow of the procession, as these actions may cause injuries and disrupt the route.
Participants are advised to bring only essential items and use transparent bags to facilitate inspections. The bringing of tumblers and non-transparent water containers is discouraged, with transparent water bottles recommended.
Authorities also reminded devotees that children, senior citizens, and those with medical conditions should stay along the sidewalks for their safety. Parents who cannot avoid bringing children are urged to ensure they wear proper identification tags to allow immediate communication in case of separation.
The setting up of camping tents, wearing of hats, umbrellas, and hoodies, and leaving behind trash or personal belongings along the route are likewise prohibited.
Devotees are further advised to follow the designated entrance and exit points, remain alert, and promptly report any suspicious activity to authorities. Traditional devotional practices, such as wiping towels on the image of Jesus Nazarene, remain allowed but must be done with order and discipline.
Officials stressed that strict compliance with the guidelines is essential to ensure a peaceful, safe, and meaningful Traslacion 2026.
