ZAMBOANGA CITY – A fire of still unknown origin razed two wooden vessels here on Thursday, Jan. 8.
Three people were treated for burns and smoke inhalation. The two vessels were totally razed in the fire that started at 7:46 p.m.
Strong winds caused the fire to spread rapidly and engulfed both vessels before firefighters put out the fire.
Investigators are investigating possible electrical malfunction or improper handling of cargo consisting of gasoline placed inside containers as possible causes of the fire.
The vessels were reportedly owned by Jihad Baiting and Nusri Hataman Omar.
Initial damage to property was placed at P200,000. Arson investigators are continuing assessment.
