Strong Group acquires Ara Galang, joins Mylene Paat and Imee Hernandez in latest signings

Strong Group Athletics has secured another veteran player ahead of the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) season after announcing the acquisition of opposite spiker Ara Galang.

The management disclosed this in a social media post on Thursday, Jan. 8, just a day after also landing former Most Valuable Player Mylene Paat. They also acquired Imee Hernandez a few days before.

“Built different(ly). All-around excellence, calm under pressure, and a winner’s mindset -- Ara Galang is strong! Welcome to the family, Ara!” the post read.

Galang, the Best Opposite Spiker of the 2025 Invitational Conference, came from the now-disbanded Chery Tiggo Crossovers. She is expected to provide depth and experience to whichever Strong Group-affiliated team she suits up for.

Strong Group currently has two affiliate teams competing in the PVL -- Farm Fresh and ZUS Coffee.

Other early acquisitions by the group include Imee Hernandez, Remy Palma, Chie Saet, Bia General and Royse Tubino.
