A Nigerian student was arrested after a Filipina filed a complaint accusing him of sexually assaulting her following an argument in Pasay City on Jan. 6.
Pasay City Police chief Col. Joselito De Sesto said the suspect, identified only as Chim, 28, was nabbed inside his condominium unit at Shore 2 Residences, Tower I, Barangay 76.
The victim was identified as Mae, 29, a resident of Springtown Villas, Tanza, Cavite.
De Sesto said the incident stemmed from a heated argument after the suspect accused the victim of stealing his two gold rings and allegedly hiding them in her private part.
According to the victim, Chim forcibly undressed her and inserted his finger into her private part in an attempt to search for the missing rings.
Mae sought assistance from condominium security personnel, after which they were both brought to Pasay City Police Substation 10 at the SM Mall of Asia to file a complaint.
The police chief said the case was referred to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), and the suspect was charged with violation of the Anti-Rape Law.
